pdiag - The Free Diagnostic Project

Thanks

I would like to thank the people at sourceforge for giving me all those facilities for development. It would be impossible for me to upload each and every test release on my website.

What is pdiag?

pdiag is a software that provides detailed hardware information about your system and diagnoses individual portions of hardware. It runs ideally on DOS, but can run on Win3.1 or Win9x as well (although some functionality may not work as expected). It requires DJGPP/Turbo C and TASM/NASM to build the package and CWSDPMI as DPMI host.

Which is the latest release?

There's an old one, but I haven't made it available publicly as yet. Currently, I'm focussing more on getting the correct system information (in other words, the sysinfo module of pdiag).

Where can I get the latest version of sysinfo?

The latest one can be found on http://www.midpec.com/software.html. Again, there are some files I'm working on for the next release. The earlier release was a total mess - no proper coding standards, inefficient code, etc. It was mostly a kind of test-program that I had developed. The new version follows the K&R coding style and is written and documented well.

Where can I get the development version of the sysinfo code?

You can get that from http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdiag/. This consists only the code. You wouldn't want this unless you want to work on the enhancing sysinfo itself. If you have any contributions or ideas, please feel free to E-Mail me (Prashant TR <tr@midpec.com>).

How can I help this development?

You can either contribute code or perhaps run some modules and send me any reports. Feel free to send any reports. I really love to see new reports and that makes me get more and more interested in this. It helps me a lot, although you might think it's unnecessary.
